Baird Chocolate (Crisp) British Malt. Highly roasted malt, but not as roasted as Black Malt. Used for coloring and flavoring a wide range of dark beer styles, including stouts, porters, and brown ales. In low cencentration (an ounce or two per 5 gallons of beer) it provides an excellent brown color and just a hint of roast. In higher concentrations it can be almost black, and provides a strong roast character with bittersweet chocolate tones.
