YES! YOU CAN HAVE AN AIRLOCK AND A THERMOWELL on top of your Speidel!

304 stainless steel thermowell with grommet custom designed to fit ALL models and sizes of Speidel plastic fermenters and plastic storage tanks.

Rubber grommet snaps into the 1/2" drilled hole - Accepts standard 3/8” airlocks including “Double Bubble” S-Shaped (SKU# 0196) airlock and 3-piece “barrel” (SKU# 0195) airlock.

Thermowell is 14” long, with a 5/16” inner opening. Able to accept large thermocouplers.

Replaces stock Speidel plastic airlock / bung assembly.

PLEASE NOTE: Speidel tanks and fermenters come with ONE lock ring (as part of the spigot). To attach this Thermowell you will need an ADDITIONAL lock ring, which is part of Speidel OEM Spigot (SKU# 2807).

CHARACTERISTICS and SPECIFICATIONS:

· Includes our custom-manufactured silicone “V-groove” gasket (SKU# 3064) for superior leak-free attachment. Replaces standard rubber gasket provided by Speidel.

I now have three of these and really like them. They replaced regular rubber stoppers that I drilled an extra hole in to accommodate both a thermowell and airlock. Those worked well enough, but these are a nicer solution. There are two cons as far as I can tell.

1. All three of mine were a bit large in diameter, meaning that once you put on the gasket seal it was a tight fit to get the "locking" ring on and it would often pull the gasket off and you would have to try again. I ground mine down a little bit and that solved the problem.

2. As far as I know the "locking" rings are not available as a separate item and you need to purchase a complete spigot assembly just to get the ring.

I would give these five stars if it were not for those two issues.

Purchased this awesome product after having to mickey mouse my Speidel fermenter to fit inside my chest freezer with a bubbler. Works great but my only complaint is the silicone o-ring bunches you tighten the thermowell to speidel cap, the silicone o-ring pinches and doesn't seal correctly so I had to gently finger it and guide it while tightening it. If the thermowell had a grove cut into and used a fitted o-ring to seat it correctly like on a butterfly valve, this would be perfect.

other then needing to have additional rings going from the big air lock and plastic valve to a metal valve with the curved dip tube, and the temp probe - with the more normal air lock hole - its nice so far. Does not take too much more space then the primary fermenter buckets.... moving 30 gallons is a bit more of a challenge - just use a hand truck
