Jaybird Sparge Assembly

for Keg / Keggle

304 Stainless Steel

Sparge assembly for keg or keggle.

Works with ANY 50 liter (13.2 gallon) and 15.5 gallon barrel keg conversion, including American, European, and Coors “Belly Keg”.

Coupler provided for welded, permanent connection to keg wall. Union allows easy removal of sparge arms (for easy stirring during mash-in) while weld stays in place and out of the way.

Strategically engineered 1/8 inch holes (32 of them!) in pipes AND cross fitting assure constant flow and even distribution.

Works with gravity feed of sparge water (the longer the drop the better). For best results use a pump and control flow with a ball valve.

Save $35.00 if you would rather drill your own holes. Just modify the selection in the pull-down menu below. NOTE: It is best to start with fewer holes, then increase hole count and location to fit your specific flow control needs

CHARACTERISTICS and SPECIFICATIONS:

·         304 Stainless Steel, 1/2” NPT threaded components

·         1/2" female NPT coupler connection for water source

·         32 total water flow holes, 1/8” drilled

Great sparge arm 04/04/2020
By Christopher Cote
I've used this sparge arm on 2 batches so far and it's pretty sweet. I just hand tightened the sparge arm itself with no teflon tape and it seems fine. For the weedless fitting parts from the union to the outside of the keg I did use teflon tape and tighten those up very snug. Combining this with a valve behind the welded/weldless fitting is the way to go to control flow and it works well at wide open and almost all the way shut so you can dial in your sparge rate. Because of where I drilled my Bud keg converted mash tun there is a tiny slope to how the sparge arm sits in my setup so at lower flows I get a little bit more flow out of the far end of the sparge arm, but it doesn't seem like an issue and it's due to where I drilled the keg. Something to be aware of. This is definitely a nice upgrade to your setup if your sparge game is basic.

Sparge assembly. 04/15/2013
By Richard Cartwright
I ordered this a little over a month ago but didn't brew my first all grain batch until yesterday. I am generally happy with the overall product quality. However, having had no previous sparge experience I relied on NorCal's expertise for hole size. Unfortunately, for my use, the holes are too big. I didn't seem to be able to slow the sparge enough while keeping the flow even throughout. If I knew then what I know now I would start out with smaller holes. You can always make them bigger but not smaller.

Best Sparge Arm EVER 11/11/2013
By Daniel Horne
Works exactly as the video shows. I like how it attaches to the keggle, instead of some sparge arms which sit over the top/side. It provides a very good spread of water/wort across the entire surface area of the mash. And of course; it's stainless!
